Shakey's Pizza reintroduces its "gourmet crust:" the Pizza 1954.
How is it different from their normal crust? Well, this one is thin but not crispy; it's also chewy, but not thick. So, it's thin and chewy. And, it is flavored with rosemary.
The toppings of Pizza 1954 are ground beef, pepperoni, red onions, and basil. Nothing unfamiliar, taste wise. It's just that, this time, the crust is, again, thin and chewy. Or as we would say, tough and a little difficult to eat.
Why the name Pizza 1954? Well, Shakey's was established in 1954 and this thin and chewy crust was their first.
