Mylene's Ensaymada & Banana Cake

One afternoon, we were asked to try Mylene's Ensaymada and Banana Cake. And since we NEVER turn down free, delicious-looking food, try we did.

The Banana Cake was delicious; it was teeming with good, authentic banana flavor, as opposed to just having white sugary flavor. The cake was also moist and had good integrity. What was a little odd though was its appearance; it looked like chocolate cake for it was darker than the banana cake we're accustomed to. Then again, it's delicious, so the slightly odd look, we ignored.

The Ensaymada (Php 160 per box of 6) was equally delicious. Buttery, cheesy, with the right balance of sweet and salty. It's also soft and a pleasure to eat. What we liked was the cheese -- it's not quezo de bola, making the salty cheese flavor subdued. It's perfect with coffee.

If you want to try these two yummy treats, call up Mylene's. You won't be disappointed.
